Getting Started with Source

Welcome to Source | the easy way to manage your finances, business payroll, and send payments to friends, family and others. This guide will get you set up in minutes.

What is Source

Source is online platform that allows you to set up payroll, and send payments to friends, families, business, and others.

Why You Need An Account

Source is designed to be a financial services platform. That means, the platform must be a controlled environment. All financial services platforms in the United States must comply with KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements. Central to these requirements is knowing who you are, who are your employees, who you are sending money to and who you are receiving money from. KYC compliance also requires us to encyrpt much of your information and enforce strict account protection mechanisms. Source endeavours to abide by KYC compliance requirements so we can provide you with the best possible platform for handling both your business and personal finances. So rest assured, Source is Secure.

How to Create an Account

There are two steps to creating an account.

The first step is to create an account. Creating an account means providing us with your basic information. This includes your name, First and Last, your email address, and a password. We will store the collected information in our Database.

Source offers several ways to create an account. You can create an account using your Apple Account. When you create an account with using your existing Apple Account, Source will collect your information from your Apple Account. We will store the collected information in our Database.

You can also create an account using your Google Account. When you create an account using your Google Account, Source will collect your information from your Google Account. We will store the collected information in our Database.

You can also create an account using your email address. When you create an account using your email address, you will be required to provide your name, First and Last, your email address, and a password. We will store the collected information in our Database.

The second step is to set up your account. You will not be able to send and recieve funds, or set up payroll until you complete all the steps in step 2.

To finish setting up your account, you will need to login. When you login, your dashboard will be populated with to do cards. The first to do card is "Configure Your Account." Click the card. The card opens to your Source Profile. You will need to provide more information to make your account compliant. First you will need to specify your account type. You will need to provide your phone number, your address (if ypou have one), and you will need to provide your social security number.

Account Types

There are three account types. They are: Source Personal, Source Employee and Source Business. Source Employees are barred from creating an account following the normal process.

Account Verification

Source Personal accounts must provide a phone number, your address (if ypou have one), a social security number and you will need to specify your account type as Personal.

All account types require you to upload a least one valid Government-issued ID, one social security card, and a selfie. You cannot upload a photo from your gallery, or folder. You must take a new photo.

Source Business accounts must provide a phone number, your address, you will need to specify your account type as Business, a Business EIN, and specify at least one but no more than two authorized representatives. You must provide the authorized representative's name, First and Last, the authorized representative's phone number (can be the same as the business phone number), the authorized representative's email, and the authorized representative's social security number.

Source Business accounts will also need to provide documents to confirm business status. Source allows for five types of business accounts. Sole Proprietorships, LLCs, Partnership, S-Corporations, and C-Corporations.

Sole Proprietorships are encouraged to obtain an EIN from the IRS and upload it during the account creation process. The address on the EIN must match the address you provide during account creation.

LLCs must upload valid Articles of Organization, an EIN, and a Government-issued ID of the authorized representative during the account creation process. If your LLC is single‑member, the owner's ID is sufficient as the authorized representative; for multi‑member LLCs provide IDs for the listed authorized representatives.

Partnerships must upload a signed Partnership Agreement showing the partners, their roles, and which partner(s) have signing authority, a Certificate of Partnership or other state/local registration documents (if the partnership is registered with a state or county), an EIN confirmation letter, and a Government-issued ID for each general partner or the authorized representative.

S-Corporations must upload valid Articles of Incorporation, an EIN, and a Government-issued ID of the authorized representative during the account creation process.

C-Corporations must upload valid Articles of Incorporation, an EIN, and a Government-issued ID of the authorized representative during the account creation process.

Accepted file types are PDF, JPG, and PNG; keep each file under 10 MB. If any document is in a language other than English, please provide a certified translation.

If you do not yet have an EIN you can still start account setup, but you will be required to provide the EIN before you can initiate transfers or payroll. All uploaded documents must clearly show names, dates, and issuing authorities. If a document is unreadable, our team will ask you to re-upload a clearer copy.

Source Employee Accounts

Source Employee accounts are generated when a Source Business invites, by way of email, an employee, or an incoming employee, to join the business on the Source platform. The Source Employee will be sent a unique link. They must use that link to properly configure their account. They will need to provide their name, First and Last. They will need to provide their email, it will be taken from the link and autofilled into the form. They will not be able to edit their email. They will need to provide their phone number, their address (if they have one), and their social security number. This is only way to properly create a Source Employee account.

Once all the requested information is provided, your Source Personal, Source Employee or Source Business account will be ready to process payroll, or send and receive funds.
